Benefits of Membership

The Northeast Indiana Human Resource Association (NIHRA) is the local chapter of the National Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) organization for the Northeast Indiana area.  Our Association is dedicated to advancing the profession of Human Resources. 

Monthly luncheons are scheduled the first Monday of each month from September through June.  During our luncheon meetings we have a speaker addressing current human resource topics.  We also spend time networking with peers including providing area employment updates and opportunities.  Most of the NIHRA meetings are “Approved for Credit” for those practitioners seeking credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
 
Annual dues are  $75.00 and monthly luncheons $15.00.  Individual memberships are based on a calendar year (January - December) and are nontransferrable.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any membership committee member.

Membership Categories

Professional Member:  Individuals engaged in human resource management with at least three years of experience at the exempt level; or any individual certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute; or any faculty member with three or more years expereriece holding at least assistant professional rank in HR; or full-time consultants with at least three years experience as an HR practiotioner; or full-time attorneys with at least three years experience in counseling and adivising clients on matters relating to the HR profession.  Professional Members have voting rights and may hold office in the Chapter.

Associate Member:  Individuals in non-exempt H.R. management positions as well as those individuals who do not meet the qualifications of the other classes of membership, but who demonstrate a bona fide interest in human resource management and the mission of the Chapter.  Associate members may not vote or hold office in the Chapter.

Transitional Member:  Individuals previously engaged in human resource management at the exempt level, but who do not meet the requirements for Professional Member due to dislocation from employment.  Transitional Members have voting rights, but may not hold office in the Chapter.

  • GOLD Individual Membership (January 1 - December 31) - $195.00

  • SILVER Individual Membership (January 1 - December 31) - $75.00

  • STUDENT Individual Membership (January 1 - December 31) - $40.00 (National SHRM Member - Free)

  • PARTIAL Individual Membership (July 1 - November 15) - $38.50 (Restricted to First-time members only)
