Jeremy began teaching United States History at Jay County High School, Portland, Indiana, in 1995 and has worked a total of 22 years in public education in Indiana. He has held positions as teacher, dean of students, assistant principal and high school principal. Jeremy is also a 27-year member of the Indiana Army National Guard with service in Bosnia and Afghanistan.

 Jeremy is currently Superintendent of Schools for the Jay School Corporation as well as Battalion Commander of the 1st Battalion, 293rd Infantry Regiment of the Indiana Army National Guard, headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Lieutenant Colonel Gulley is also a member of American Legion Post 159 in Hartford City, Indiana and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7081 in Dunkirk, Indiana.

Jeremy is also President of the John Jay Center for Learning in Portland, Indiana, Chair of the Jay-Blackford Manufacturing Council, member of the Indiana Works Council (Region 6) and a member of the board of trustees for The Portland Foundation. He resides in rural Montpelier, Indiana with his wife Jennifer, sons, Liam and Connor and daughter Evelyn.

  • Meritorious Service Medal - Seized large weapons cache, Bosnia
  • Indiana's James Madison Memorial Fellow, 1999
