Natalie Nix is a Human Resources Consultant at Parkview Health.  She has worked in the field of Human Resources for 14 years, 11 of those with Parkview Health.  Natalie graduated with a B.S. in Human Resources Management from Ball State University with a Minor in Organizational Communication. 

Hallie Custer has been with Parkview Health Human Resources for 20 years. She is currently the Director over HR Operations, Recruitment and Student Services focusing on recruitment and retention initiatives. She has been in the HR field for 23 years. Hallie graduated from Indiana University- Bloomington with a B.S. in Psychology and received her Master’s in Education from Indiana University- Fort Wayne. Hallie also holds the PHR and SHRM-CP Human Resources certifications.

Natalie and Hallie will share their journey of how they simplified the performance appraisal process and eliminated ratings.  They will discuss why ratings can be destructive and demotivating and why they are not a necessary part of performance management. Also discussed will be how Parkview solicited feedback from leaders and co-workers to secure buy-in on this large cultural change.  Participants will learn how Parkview handled the compensation piece along with ensuring that they remained compliant from a regulatory perspective.  Finally, they will discuss the importance of creating a culture of feedback to support this change.
